Nine-year-old Lloyd Biddulph is a star in the making.
The Haywards Heath youngster is already being tipped for the top after a marvellous debut year in kart racing.
Competing in the Formula 6 class, which is held at venues across Kent, Lloyd finished second in the championship despite finding himself competing against boys three years older.
He finished the season with five straight victories and never finished below third all season.
The Northlands Wood pupil's achievements did not stop there. While competing at a circuit in Polegate, he broke the lap record an amazing 14 times in one day.
Dad Doug said: "He has been up against kiddies who have been racing for three years and he has been beating them.
"He has won five races and has never finished less than third. To finish second in the championship is very good, but the challenge next year will be even harder."
Lloyd is stepping up to compete at national level next season in the Honda Championship, but he is desperate for sponsorship to help him.
This year Doug, a keep fit instructor and part time disc jockey, has had to learn about mechanics in order to set up Lloyd's kart for each race.
It has been a tremendous learning experience for him, as well as Lloyd, especially as their rivals are often heavily backed, with trained mechanics and trailers to transport their karts around.
Lloyd first became interested when he sat on his dad's lap at a motorsport fun day.
Doug said: "Somebody said he had got good co-ordination and recommended I took him to a track as soon as I could.
"I knew he had a talent and when this guy said give him to a proper racing track I knew it wasn't just me who thought this about him."
Although Doug had always been interested in motorsport, he had never competed, so where do Lloyd's talents come from?
Doug said: "He has always been good at computer racing games and I am convinced the co-ordination from that has come from."
Uckfield's Andy Denyer clinched third place for the season in the BEMSEE club's 250 Grand Prix class after winning the final two races of the season at Silverstone last weekend.
Denyer, who was helped by Adrian at Motorport in Eastbourne, said: "Considering I broke my shoulder earlier in the year, it has turned into a really good season for me."
Peacehaven's Richard Freshwater claimed fourth place in the Supersport 600 class with two solid rides at Silverstone. This is an improvement on last season when he finished fifth overall.
Crawley teenager Oliver Merrilees finished his season in the Rookie 400 class with a pleasing eighth and seventh places.
