Former Porridge actor Peter Vaughan got his hands dirty to boost a charity in Mid Sussex.
The star, who played hardman Harry Grout in the classic TV comedy series, visited Crawley and Horsham to help plant flowers for the Alzheimer's Disease Society.
Flowerbeds at the Memorial Gardens, Crawley, and at North Street, Horsham, have been decked out with yellow, white and blue winter pansies in the shape of the society's logo.
Peter has also portrayed a man suffering from Alzheimer's in the BBC drama Our Friends In The North.
He was joined by representatives from the Horsham, Crawley and District branch of the society and council officials from both towns.
Branch chairman Nick Zambuni said: "The aim of planting these flowers was to help raise awareness of the work the charity does."
