An exhibition on controversial waste plans will spend only two days in Newhaven, one of the towns with most at stake.
The travelling display will visit Newhaven, earmarked as the site for an incinerator, on November 10 and 11.
The two day stop-over has prompted criticism the councils backing the plans are not giving people enough time to see what is proposed.
Richard Black, of Lewes Labour Party, asked: "Why is it that the plan is on display for six weeks in Lewes, but just two days in Newhaven?"
Waste plans which call for two incinerators, one at North Quay, Newhaven, were published for consultation earlier this week.
The exhibition will also be in Battle, close to the second proposed incinerator site, at Mountfield Mine, for two days on December 1 and 2.
Hastings, Hailsham, Eastbourne, Uckfield, and Bexhill will also get a two day visit.
Copies of the plan will be available for inspection throughout the consultation at Bartholomew House in Brighton, Hove Town Hall, and County Hall, Lewes.
The consultation period runs until December 12.
Comments made during the six weeks' consultation will be considered in the final draft of the plans, prior to a public inquiry next winter.
