Since the 59 and 59a bus serving Preston Village and along Preston Drove was axed, the journey from Preston Village to see my doctor in Beaconsfield Villas - which used to take three minutes - now takes 50 minutes.
Similarly, getting to Sainsbury's Lewes Road store used to take 15 minutes and now takes anything up to an hour.
Is this really the best way Brighton and Hove Bus Company can come up with to attract more people back on public transport? No wonder almost everyone who lives in the town's suburbs will never be persuaded to give up their cars, regardless of the cost of parking and petrol.
