A Brighton man marked his 100th birthday with a party.
More than 50 family and friends joined in as Walter Hocking, or Wally as he is better known, cut his birthday cake, toasted the big day and sang some of the songs of his youth.
There was also the traditional message from the Queen and presents from family, friends and staff at the William Moon Lodge day centre.
Wally has been going to the centre in Hollingdean, Brighton for five years.
Mr Hocking was born in Cornwall and lived in Canada for 20 years.
He fought in Italy with the Canadian Army during the Second World War and moved to Brighton when he was demobbed in 1945.
He took the milestone in his stride and said: "I can't help it - it was not my fault!"
