Julie Pullin goes for her third British singles title at Telford this week.
The British No.2 from Hove is upbeat about her hat-trick chances after finishing runner-up to Louise Latimer in the LTA Ladies Tour final in Hull on her 25th birthday yesterday.
The Pavilion and Avenue club, who won in 1996 and 1998, said: "It is the best feeling to be British champion and I would like to feel that way again because it means a lot to me.
"There is a certain amount of pressure because I will be expected to do well as second seed to Louise Latimer.
"A lot of the other girls will be keen to beat me because I am one of the favourites.
"But I have a great opportunity to do well.
"It would be nice to meet Louise in the final as we travel a lot of the world together, but we will just have to see how it goes."
Julie will also attempt to secure her fourth national doubles crown with Lorna Woodroffe, from Surrey.
She said: "We will be the favourites. We had been winning the title every other year until last year when my injury broke up the sequence. But we will give it a go."
Jheni Osman (Eastbourne) qualified by defeating Hertfordshire pair Holly Bagshaw 6-1, 6-3 and Joannee Mayne 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Carly Homewood (Brighton) beat Francesca Flavell (Leicestershire) 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and was today facing Kate O'Brien (Yorkshire) for a place in the main draw starting tomorrow.
