A company has been given six months to improve the appearance of a dilapidated block of flats.
Lewes District Council has served an enforcement notice ordering improvement work to be carried out at Pelham Court, in Pelham Road, Seaford.
There have been dozens of complaints about the condition of the building, which the council says has not been repaired for eight years and is in a state of "severe dilapidation".
A report before councillors said: "The current state of the building caused a serious loss of amenity to the area and had an adverse visual impact on local residents and local commercial enterprises."
The management company of the building has been ordered to paint the premises, repoint crumbling brickwork and either remove or replace scaffolding poles.
