There's been rail chaos for two months ever since the Hatfield crash in which four people were killed.
But even before that, Connex South Central, which runs most rail services in Sussex, had a punctuality record which was getting worse.
It also failed to satisfy many customers in other areas such as providing value for money and the upkeep of trains.
As Connex is about to lose its franchise, many regular customers who are fed up with poor services might be saying it's about time too but for one factor. Figures show that Thameslink, part of the Govia group which will take over the franchise, had a punctuality record which was even worse.
