I was unfortunate to be stuck in the flood on the M23 on December 12.
There was no local information on site, no police presence, no police signs to slow down or otherwise, no council signs and no matrix signs working on either side of the motorway.
It is surely police responsibility to warn road users of these problems and protect them - even if they are driving according to the conditions at the time.
At no stage of my journey along the M23 was I alerted to a flood of that magnitude.
I would be willing to offer a statement (for insurance purposes) to any of those
drivers/vehicles involved in the accident that there was a lack of information that may have otherwise stopped the accident happening.
I know the police are doing their best, but this time they let us down. Please learn from this tragedy. If this had been a murder scene the police would have "protected" it. This could very nearly have been a murder scene.
