School heads have praised Argus readers who bombarded them with donations after children's work was destroyed by vandals.
A gang went on the rampage at Telscombe Cliffs Primary School earlier this month, spraying paint on walls and ruining computer equipment.
Andrew Kearsey, head teacher at the school, said youngsters were distraught after some of their display work was destroyed.
Since news of the attack was reported in The Argus, the school has received a flood of donations meaning staff have managed to recoup the loss of the equipment in a fortnight.
One couple travelled from Haywards Heath to donate a computer to the 600-pupil school in Telscombe Cliffs Way.
It has also received a £200 cheque from the Peacehaven Lions.
Mr Kearsey said a young mother turned up from Brighton to hand over a £50 donation because she was so upset at the amount of damage.
He said: "The response has been absolutely phenomenal, it has really tugged at people's hearts.
"Our parents here have been very generous. We have had donations from Haywards Heath, Shoreham and Brighton.
"The material damage was not the most upsetting thing in all of this, it was the loss of children's work.
"Everyone has been so kind and we would like to thank all the Argus readers for their generosity.
"We even had a woman with grown-up children turn up from Brighton to hand over a donation. It has been tremendous."
Double-glazed windows were also smashed during the raid.
Mr Kearsey said he was now planning to improve security at the school following the attack.
