This is all that remains of a motor caravan after a suspected arson attack in Worthing.
The blaze in Poulters Lane was so fierce it caused damage to surrounding cars and properties.
Owners Dennis and Jayne Horgan could only watch as firefighters battled to stop the fire spreading.
A car parked nearby was severely damaged by the heat and three others were also affected.
Mr Horgan said: "It just went up, but it was only when I was woken by the police that I knew anything about it. It's just good there was no one inside."
Leading Firefighter Steve Boniface said the blaze was being treated as suspicious.
He said: "The heat and flames were shooting up the side of the house and there was a gas cylinder involved which was giving off a lot of heat through its relief valve. It was quite a fireball for a while.
"The caravanette is completely destroyed and because of the flames, the ground floor of the house is damaged."
