FORMER Albion midfielder Danny Davis has snubbed a move to Bognor and instead signed for Lewes.
Davis, 20, has been looking for a club to relaunch his career since being released by the Albion a fortnight ago.
He had been expected to sign for Jack Pearce's Bognor side but instead put pen-to-paper with Ryman League division three outfit Lewes yesterday.
Lewes boss Jimmy Quinn said: "It is another good signing for us. Before now we have always strugg-led to attract anybody here. They would rather go to Worthing or Bognor, which is understandable.
"He is still quite a young lad and it could be a stepping stone for him."
Davis, who makes his Rooks debut at home to Egham tomorrow, is hoping to get back into the professional game and it is understood he is to have a trial with Gillingham in the New Year.
Quinn added: "If he wants to get back in the pro game the best way to do it is to play well. It doesn't matter where he does it, as long as he performs he has a chance of being picked up."
