Where in the name of God has Des Turner been living for the last year or so (December 18)?
Is he really expecting people to believe he was genuinely surprised at the latest asylum seeker figures?
If he is, it is obvious he is completely out of touch with what is going on in this new city!
Some of us could have told him the ever-increasing number of refugees was becoming obvious when walking around Brighton and Hove.
With more than 7,000 asylum seekers in this city alone, it is quite obvious the flood that people were warning about has actually happened.
I would like the powers that be to tell me how many of these people are in local authority housing, which should be given, as councillor Lynda Hyde put it, to local residents.
