John Stallwood from Burgess Hill was the first film director ever for international actress Greta Scacchi.
She was nine years old and starred in a film called Inhabit the Wind about youngsters saving a kestrel.
He recalls the film was made in appalling weather in the depths of winter with cold and blustery winds blowing.
No wonder she made sure conditions would not be repeated when she became a star and that one of her best-known films would be called Heat And Dust.
