My purse, containing all the cash I had saved over the past few months to buy presents for my daughter this Christmas, was stolen in Churchill Square shopping centre, Brighton.
I felt very panicked and was unable to think clearly. As I was standing outside the NatWest bank, I went in.
The staff could not have been more helpful or sympathetic. They calmed me down, reassured my daughter, gave me a room to sit in and a phone to use.
They found the phone numbers of my bank, building society and the police, reported the matter to security, brought me a cup of tea and offered sympathy and time.
Their response helped me keep in perspective that the world is not all bad. To all the staff, many thanks.
