What a sad letter from Mat Langford (December 20). Where have you been this year, Mat?
Whitehawk, Moulsecoomb, Bates and Saunders Park estates have secured more than £47 million from New Deal for Communities.
Whitehawk also shares in URBAN funding and there is funding for an Education Action Zone for Whitehawk, Moulsecoomb, Bevendean and Coldean.
This funding is being used to do exactly what Mat suggests - and more.
We hope Queens Park is also successful in securing funding to meet the challenges of the area but to use the celebration of Brighton and Hove getting city status to have a general whinge without knowing the facts is at best ill-informed.
Come on Mat, chill out and enjoy the fact that something good has happened.
-Alison Ghani and Jerry Le Sueur, chair and project director, East Brighton New Deal for Communities
