I am very sceptical about the claims that "space-age technology" will help buses run on time (Argus, December 12).

I do accept that such technology could bring information to travellers which might be helpful - however, at a cost of £1.3 million?

All of those in the community not using buses and even many of those who do might question the sanctioning of £1.3 million for such a project - fine if the bus company wishes to inform its customers and spend such an amount, but for Brighton and Hove Council to agree to spend our money I would question such a move.

It would seem that the only people to make money out of such a project are those installing the equipment around the town - equipment that will be placed in areas recognised as ready targets of vandals.

Please could we be advised of the names of those councillors - and of the name of the committee upon which they sit - who sanctioned such an expenditure?
