Business advisers raised more than £5,000 for a housing charity after being sponsored to sleep outside on a wild and windy night.

The money was presented by KPMG's director of tax, Anant Suchak, to the Brighton Housing Trust, for the First Base day centre in Montpelier Place.

It was the second consecutive year that KPMG had taken part but staff had to endure heavy rain and gale force winds.

Anant Suchak said: "It was one night of discomfort for them, whereas for many people in the UK it is a regular occurrence."

KPMG chose the trust because it gives help, advice and support on jobs, housing and health to homeless people.

The money raised will go towards the £180,000 the Brighton Housing Trust needs each year to help homeless people gain independence.
