A court has heard how a bakery manager stole the takings from the till and altered till receipts to cover the theft.
Sally Carden stole more than £500 from the bakers in George Street, Hove, before being found out.
Carden, 27, of Gladstone Road, Portslade, admitted three charges of theft, plus an offence of false accounting when she appeared before Brighton magistrates.
She asked for 14 similar offences to be taken into consideration.
The court heard Carden has no previous convictions.
The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports and she was bailed until January 25.
