Rail passengers in East Sussex face further disruption throughout this week following a landslide.

It happened on Saturday at Crowhurst on the Hastings-Tunbridge Wells line.

The landslide means only one line is in operation today, causing disruption to services, particularly at peak times as trains in both directions take turns to use the line.

In the morning Hastings to London services, on the Tunbridge Wells line, are taking priority.

But trains to Hastings from the London direction are terminating at Battle, where bus services run to Hastings.

In the evening, trains from London to Hastings take priority and travellers in the opposite direction will have to catch a bus at Hastings into Battle for services to the capital.

During the day services between Hastings and Eastbourne will terminate and start from Bexhill all day, with a connecting bus service between Bexhill and Hastings.

A spokesman for train operator Connex could not say when services would return to normal.
