Two charities have received an unexpected windfall from the will of millionaire Stanley Burtwell from Lancing.
Barnardo's and the Parkinson's Disease Society will share more than £500,000 from his legacy of more than £1 million.
Most people know of the good work carried out by Barnardo's but Parkinson's Disease is often only known to those who suffered from it, such as Mr Burtwell.
It is a debilitating disease that can cause great distress to thousands of people and those who care for them.
Thanks to generous legacies of this kind, researchers could be on their way to providing relief and perhaps ultimately discovering a cure.
