It is certainly good to know that people come from far and near to admire Preston Park (January 30).
All the more reason then for the planned renovation work to go ahead full speed.
Andrew Gillespie mentions in his letter the graffiti-covered and empty Tile House and the beautiful marble drinking fountain. These could easily be repaired.
I would add it really is time for the vandalised lamps at the park entrances to be refitted with the new globes that our council has selected.
Incidentally, the restored hedgerow referred to by Mr Gillespie is not in the Manor gardens. The line runs along from Preston Park Avenue, past the playground and finishes just short of the Tile House.
