We are now reaping the benefits of two positive campaigns in the centre of Hove, which have not gone unnoticed.
At a recent meeting of the Hove Business Association, numerous members reported that customers in the George Street and Blatchington Road area had remarked on two facts.
These were that the streets have become noticeably cleaner and that the presence of police officers in the area created a safer environment. The feel-good factor was great.
With the recent flak that Sita has received it seems that one area at least has benefited and we feel that credit is due to them. If only they could repeat this over the whole of the city.
Statistics have shown that the Hove shopping area had hugely reduced crime over the Christmas period.
Long live our bobbies on the beat.
-Keith Bryden, Chairman, Hove Business Association
