A mini-branch of HSBC Bank has opened at Dorothy Stringer Secondary School in Brighton.
Year 9 students were invited to apply for positions in the bank by sending a letter of application and a CV. All selected staff then received training from HSBC to teach them the rudiments of banking.
The branch provides a range of banking services, including cash deposit and withdrawal facilities to students, staff and school associations.
Andrew Castle, HSBC branch manager at Ditchling Road, Brighton, and in overall charge of the Dorothy Stringer venture, said: "Schoolbranch is just one of many resources available to schools and colleges which demonstrates the bank's continued commitment to education."
