Former Adur District Councillor Nigel Sweet has obviously not done his homework about the benefits of the Port of Shoreham regeneration scheme (Opinion, January 17 and 29).
At a recent public meeting attended by 200 local people, the residents of Southwick said they were not against the regeneration scheme but were against the loss of two-thirds of Southwick beach.
Mr Sweet's problem is that he doesn't listen to the concerns of local people and perhaps that is why he was rejected at the Adur Council elections last May.
-Jim Funnell, Conservative Councillor for the Eastbrook Ward of Adur District Council
