If anyone is undecided regarding banning hunting with dogs, consider this. Each year, hundreds of hares are brutally killed in hare coursing, despite the fact they are an endangered species. Every February, one of these so-called "sporting events" is held at Altcar, north of Liverpool.
The declining numbers of hares in this area means that many are trapped elsewhere in the country and brought in.
They are released into an open field, where two greyhounds are sent after them. Punters bet on the chase until the hares are literally torn apart.
Is this a "tradition" we want to keep in a civilised society? Now where do you stand on banning hunting with dogs?
