Companies have been urged to introduce "stress down days" in a bid to boost productivity and reduce staff sickness.
Social activities should also be organised by employers to help people recover from the stresses of working.
Recruitment consultancy Media Contacts said increasing numbers of employees were making claims against their employers because of stress-related health problems. Following the success of "dress down days" the firm said it believed the idea could be taken further to help relieve stress.
