Asbestos contamination halted attempts to investigate a fire that destroyed a bungalow in Selsey early this morning.
A senior firefighter said the blaze was "not an accident" but investigators could not enter the building until deadly asbestos had been cleared.
The fire broke out at about 1.30am in a bungalow in Drift Lane, Selsey.
No one was in the building, which is believed to have been a holiday home.
