I was delighted to read the article on Michael Parker (Argus, February 10).
I always look forward to his letters in the Opinion page.
My first letter appeared in 1951. I was 15 and my dad was furious because our name and address were in the local paper. I waited until I was 21 to write again.
I look forward to reading the letters of the folk with whom I can equate. I find myself worrying about them if I haven't read a letter from them for a while.
Mike Parker is one; the others are Dave Bonwick, S Wells of Montefiore Road - where I lived from 1959 to 1971 - the Reverend John Webster, Joy Linford, R G Jenkins and many more.
I will always respect their views even though I may not agree with them. To me, that is democracy.
We may never meet but we can at least discuss via the Argus Opinion page. All power to your writing. Without you I am lost.
