Mid Sussex council tax bills will rise above the rate of inflation for the next financial year.
Mid Sussex District Council has decided to up its share of the bill by 3.3 per cent from April, from £93.69 to £96.75.
That comes on top of an expected 6.5 per cent increase in West Sussex County Council and Sussex Police Authority's slice of the charge.
Overall, West Sussex people living in Band D properties are likely to face a rise of £50.77.
Burgess Hill council tax payers would pay £861.67 for a Band D bill, people in Haywards Heath would pay £852.45 and the highest bill would be in Ardingly, where Band D dwellers would be charged £867.57.
Mid Sussex Council says new Government guidelines on the reorganisation of local authorities and the costs of trying to meet its targets are among the reasons the above-inflation increase.
The policy and resources committee discussed council tax last night. The full council is expected to finalise the figure on March 7.
