As a regular visitor to Brighton and Hove, which seems such an enlightened place, it comes as a surprise that the police are prepared to endanger the lives of the city's children by forcing young cyclists on to the dangerous roads.
As more policemen in Britain are killed by road traffic than by all other causes, you might think they would understand the problems faced by vulnerable road users.
