ALBION manager Micky Adams believes Withdean holds the key to a place in the Second Division.

He is targeting a continuation of the Seagulls' clinical home form to clinch automatic promotion.

Albion have turned Withdean into a fortress since the first half of last season, when today's visitors York were among several teams to go away with the points.

The Seagulls have won 16, drawn six and lost only two of the last 24 League games and they have not been beaten on a Saturday since January 15 last year.

Adams said: "Our home form has been tremendous. That is the key for the rest of the season.

"I've said all along we would have to get used to the surroundings.

"It's an unusual football stadium but it feels like home now.

"We've got eight home games left and if we win them we'll be up regardless of what we do away."

Adams thinks the supporters also have an important role to play.

Most matches this season have been sold out and every ticket has already been snapped up for the final home fixture against Macclesfield on April 28 in anticipation of a promotion party.

"We need the fans behind us," Adams said.

"I have to admit it wasn't a fluent performance by any means against Blackpool the other night, but that is the time you need them.

"When we were 1-0 up you could hear a pin drop."
