I must take Phil Read to task (Opinion, February 19).
This Labour Government has poured more money into public services than the Tories could even have dreamed of.
As an OAP, I have done very well. The Government has brought back free eye tests, free television licences for the over-75s and £200 per household fuel allowance.
Compare this with the Tories - nothing over 18 years. They had time to make mistakes and put them right over that period but didn't. I believe in next month's budget there will be more for us OAPs.
The Labour Government needs another term to progress with its policies.
