Staff at the BBC in Brighton are moving to a new broadcasting centre later this year.
A team of presenters, reporters and television picture editors will switch from premises in Marlborough Place to Imperial House, Queen's Road.
There will be an increase in the level of Brighton and Sussex-based programming from Southern Counties Radio.
The new premises will mean a welcome move for presenters Joanne Good and John Radford, who have been working out of tiny offices.
There will be increased television editing facilities at Imperial House for the new regional news programme BBC South East Today, which will be launched in the late spring, and BBC South Today which will continue to serve Sussex.
There will also be a BBC shop and a cyber cafe for members of the public to use.
The new studios could be up and running by September.
Joanne said: "It will be a wrench to leave my little studio in Marlborough Place but it will be wonderful to work in the kind of sophisticated studio that a media city like Brighton deserves."
