Gavin Geddes hit a hat-trick as Horsham stormed to a 6-0 win over Chertsey Town at Queen Street in Ryman division two.

The Hornets were 4-0 up at the interval. They opened the scoring after 16 minutes when visiting keeper Lee Edwards fumbled Steve Payne's cross and Geddes fired home from close range.

The second on 33 minutes also came from a goalkeeping error. Steve Flain's vicious left foot shot was only parried by Edwards and Ryan Andrews knocked home.

Two minutes later a fantastic goal made it 3-0. A rapid four-man move led to Gary Charman squaring the ball into Payne's path and the winger converted with style.

The fourth in the 39th minute was also a cracker. Charman broke from the halfway line and his superb diagonal pass was thrashed home by Geddes. Geddes completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute and John Kirby added a sixth.

Lewes had two players sent off but still managed a 0-0 draw away to second placed Corinthian Casuals in division three.

The match turned on an incident on the hour mark when Lewes were denied what looked a clear penalty. To add salt to their wounds Cameron Johnson was sent off for protesting after receiving his second yellow card.

Nine minutes from time Lewes were further reduced when Justin Harris became the second player dismissed for an off the ball incident.

Lewes could still have won the game in injury time but Chris Dicker's shot hit the post.
