There has been quite a lot of back-slapping in The Argus recently regarding the improvements made to the St James's Street area of Brighton.
Sadly, I have yet to benefit from them.
I read the drinkers and beggars are gone. Some, perhaps, but not the same group who still stick close to the cash machines every day and night just below Dorset Gardens.
Although we now have a new gate at the foot of our entrance passage, it has not prevented them using the passage as a urinal. This has gone on for years. I have appealed for help many times to the police and have had no satisfaction so far.
The street lights in this area have not worked for ages either. It's very dark between George Street and Dorset Gardens.
My only hope is that when the new cafe-bar opens it will light up that area.
I also hope the owner will have more success in approaching the police to rid this area once and for all of these problems.
