After reading the nonsense written by the "ghost writer" attacking me (Opinion, March 24), I can fully understand why the name

is withheld. I wouldn't care to associate myself with such contradiction either.

My shoulders are broad, ghost writer, and I don't mind you labelling me a Conservative, even though I voted Labour at the last general election, believing at the time I was badly off under the Tories.

Some of the luxuries I was able to save for and buy under 18 years of Conservatism have worn out and I am unable to replace them because, in four years of Labour's "third way", I have been unable to save one penny for a rainy day.

I thrived under the Tories and now I'm skint under Labour - and I've signed my name to that.
