Peter Edwards is back at the helm at Peacehaven as his club's dispute with the town council looks set to be fought out by solicitors.
Edwards was re-appointed as manager at a committee meeting on Tuesday night having resigned last week when the club were threatened with eviction proceedings from their Piddinghoe Avenue home over an unpaid maintenance charge.
The club were due to pay the outstanding amount yesterday through their solicitors, believed to be about £1,200, and stave off the threat of eviction.
However, the football club has now put the matter in the hands of its solicitors and it will go to arbitration.
Edwards said: "We held quite considerable talks on Tuesday night at a committee meeting and it is quite clear to me that only one party is trying to resolve this problem and that is Peacehaven Football Club and not the Town Council.
"We have been trying for three years to get the council round the table to talk but when we finally had our meeting it lasted four minutes and resulted in a vote to have us evicted if we didn't pay the bill."
He added: "It seems we have to pay up in full before we can start to fight back.
"This matter is not going to go away, Peacehaven Football Club is not going to go away and they will have a fight on their hands. We believe we have a strong case that the maintenance charges break the terms of the lease."
Peacehaven can now return to the business of gaining promotion with Edwards in charge.
He said: "I felt that if I left the club at this time it could be left in even more trouble. The only way forward is to win promotion and get us noticed."
