Burgess Hill manager Gary Croydon has told the boss of title rivals Pagham to "stop whingeing".

The Hillians are locked in a battle with Pagham and Sidley for the title and Croydon believes Reynolds is using all his psychological know-how to gain his side the edge.

Reynolds was in the Argus earlier this week threatening to quit football at the end of the season after saying he was fed up with referees following his side's crucial 4-3 win over Horsham YMCA in a top-of-the-table clash that saw two players dismissed.

Croydon, in a light-hearted attack, said: "He's up to his old tricks again. All he ever does is start whingeing about the officials from the moment the game kicks off.

"I think the officials this season have been brilliant. All Richie is trying to do is influence the referees. It is an old pro's trick.

"Richie says he might quit at the end of the season - yeah, and there goes a pig flying past my window. My message to Richie is stop moaning and enjoy your football."

Croydon has something to moan about himself after midfielder Dave Stevens picked up a hip injury for the reserves on Monday night and was ruled out of today's trip to Arundel.
