Crawley boss Billy Smith is encouraging his men to give the fans something to cheer about from their flagging season.
Reds beat King's Lynn on Tuesday night to qualify for the Dr Martens League Cup final against either Worcester or Newport County.
Smith said: "We've got to go out there and give something back to the supporters. It's been a stop-start season, one that has been frustrating for fans.
"But if we can win the cup then they will be given cause to be reasonably happy."
Dean Wordsworth, who struck an extra-time winner, said: "It was always said before the start of the season that a top six finish and a cup success would be great.
We are still on course to do just that and although the team found themselves in a great position before Christmas we're back to roughly where we thought we would be going into the campaign.
"The board have set a five-year plan to get into the Conference, so we will only be one-fifth the way there by the end of this season. Of course we are disappointed not to still be in contention, but fortunes can change quickly in football as we have found out."
The final will be played over two legs adding to the fixture congestion on Thursday, April 19, and Thursday, April 26.
Chairwoman Jo Gomm said: "We have to wait until we know who our opponents are and then it is up to the two clubs to agree who plays at home first.
"Now we are fully booked for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until the end of the season. If any more games are called off then we start going into Sundays and Mondays."
The Dr Martens League this week confirmed they will definitely not be extending the season.
