A stationery superstore is creating 30 jobs in Eastbourne - and town leaders say it's a sign the resort is booming.
Staples will start trading on April 21 from a 19,720 sq ft store at Lottbridge Drove and will supply office equipment.
The company's arrival is being heralded as a boost to employment in the town and a significant sign its economy is thriving.
Eastbourne Council deputy leader Bob Lacey said: "This is very welcome news. This is a prestige site they have got and people will travel from miles around to visit the store.
"This is the type of company which would not come to the town unless it thought it was a good location.
"People travelling there will hopefully stop in the town and spend money."
Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce said it was the latest in a string of moves which showed business in the town was booming.
In the past year Robin Lloyd Associates had doubled its staff and Gardners Books, one of the biggest employers in the town, continued to increase its workforce.
Christine Purkess, from the Chamber of Commerce, said: "We welcome the new company to the town. It is a healthy sign of inward investment which will encourage people to come to the town and it's a boost for job seekers."
