I am writing to express my concerns over Brighton and Hove City Council's lack of action on the issue of illegal travellers' sites.

There appears to be an ever-increasing number of illegal sites. Letters in your paper indicate Coldean, Ditchling Road, Stanmer and Preston Park.

Now a growing band has invaded the public car park at Black Rock between the Volks Railway and the Marina.

I find it incredible that the council appears to be taking no action.

Caravans and cars block the footpath, a growing pile of junk is appearing and rubbish is being dumped over the sea wall.

The beach is a major tourist draw for our city. Thousands of tourists visit this area each year. What impression are they going to get? Will they ever return?
