A teenage girl was punched in the face before being sexually assaulted and robbed in Eastbourne.
It happened as the 17-year-old girl walked along Grange Road at about 3.30pm on Saturday.
She had reached the junction with Carlisle Road when a light blue car pulled up next to her.
The driver pulled her into the car and punched her twice in the face, leaving her badly bruised. He then sexually assaulted her before stealing £40 from her purse.
The teenager managed to get out of the car and the man drove off in the direction of Meads village.
The driver looked Mediterranean and aged 20 to 30. He had short, gelled-back hair. The car was a Sierra or Escort and may have been an E registration model.
