I am fed up with reading cowardly remarks written by bigoted people about my home, family and community.
I am one of the "new" travellers who, until recently, resided on Ditchling Road, Brighton, at the Hollingbury car park.
It was not disgusting, as described by John Squires (Opinion, April 4) and nor was it left untidy.
What is disgusting is the farm we have moved to. The yard is knee-deep in fly-tipped filth, quite clearly dumped by "house-dwellers".
Since we arrived, we have tidied up, burnt a lot of rubbish and cleared muck from drains.
There were many reasons for our long stay on Ditchling Road, one of which was the birth of my daughter.
Should Mr Squires like to discuss any of them, he is quite welcome to visit me at my home (which, by the way, is taxed and has a valid MOT) to discover the truth about travellers, instead of spreading hearsay and nonsense.
