A hospital rated as "red" for its cleanliness standards has been upgraded and declared "green".
St Anne's Centre, run by Hastings and Rother NHS Trust, was given a "red" rating by Government health inspectors in tables released this week.
But a spokesman for the trust said the rating was out of date and the hospital had been declared "green" following a £100,000 package of improvements.
The alterations, following the inspection in August last year, included ward redecoration, day hospital redecoration, new carpets, kitchen refurbishment and new external signs.
The spokesman said: "Unfortunately, there was no follow-up visit by the audit team which has prevented the improvement work from being reflected in the announcement this week.
"A follow-up has now been carried out which confirmed that St Anne's Centre has achieved an overall 'green' status."
Charles Ellis, director of corporate development and facilities, said: "We were disappointed St Anne's Centre did not receive a second inspection prior to the results being published.
"Everyone has worked very hard to bring the centre up to the standard we all expect.
"We were pleased the centre has now achieved 'green' status, reflecting the high standards."
