I deplore the way gas companies vie with the public for their business.
I live in a top-floor flat and twice in a recent week have answered the intercom to be told: "This is the gas lady, please let me in."
As the gas meters are not inside the building, I asked what she wanted.
On being told she wished to discuss the gas supplier, I said I was not interested.
It is extremely annoying to feel these companies are trying to trick an entry into one's home in order to try the "hard sell".
Imagine being an elderly person who is not entirely clear as to what these so-called professional people are about.
You would be likely to sign something thinking you must. This is not what one expects from a respectable service industry.
