Whitehawk were last plunged into more trouble as the division one survival fight hotted up.
Hawks crashed 1-0 at Three Bridges while their survival rivals were winning.
Pride of place went to Lancing, who scored a 3-1 success at Wick.
Martin Gray sent them on course with a quick free-kick which caught out goalkeeper Dave Treadwell.
Dave Schneider then added two, all this after Justin Thope had struck first for Wickers.
Lancing boss Andy Gander admitted: "This win helps but we have still got a lot to do.
"I'm pleased for the lads because they have worked hard and not got what they deserved but tonight we had the rub of the green."
Russell Mason took Redhill to his old club Ringmer and saw them earn a 4-1 win, thanks to two apiece from Matt Kelly and Germain Amanuel.
Mason said: "We've had four good games against Ringmer. Both sides try and play good football."
Tom Holden and Wes Lopez picked up nasty injuries for Ringmer.
Littlehampton were also celebrating after a Derren Woods strike set up a 3-0 win over Eastbourne United.
