As one of the many people who would love to see, once again, the provision of ice-skating facilities in our area, I have been wondering what has happened to the proposal for a winter sports stadium at the old cement works in Beeding.
As I recall, plans were about to go before the local council. Imagine my surprise, therefore, when in the Argus' Business supplement (Argus, April 11), I found a very small advertisement offering the sale of the cement works.
Has the once-skating public of Sussex once again been let down, I wonder? When are the politicians going to tell us the truth? They don't want a rink and they are not going to ask any developer to include one in any plans they may submit. Please stop giving us false hope of a decent rink and a first-class ice-hockey team.
