Many letters complain of lack of political choice and the constant "spinning" of the major political parties. In this vein, I have an observation about our local MP, Des Turner. Hardly a day goes by when we do not see in The Argus: "Kemptown: Des Turner says, votes, signs, etc."
However, when it comes to responding directly to his constituents' questions, things are quite different. We have e-mailed him twice in the past few months regarding matters which concern us most (the environment, travel and healthcare) in order to establish his precise commitments to action on these issues.
To which no response. Nothing. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience?
