We visited the exhibition of the new library site at Brighton's Corn Exchange on Thursday. It was only on for two days, giving very little chance for many to view the plans and model, but we were encouraged to write down our comments and observations before we left.
Unfortunately, we felt unable to leave any comments, although we had a few, because we heard the architects mocking and laughing about previous comments that had been left, particularly those from the residents of North Laine. It was obvious there was no genuine concern for the thoughts and worries of others and they were being held to ridicule in a very loud and arrogant manner.
If these are the best representatives from the practice selected to develop this very important site, I think Brighton and Hove should think very hard before awarding it the contract.
